The Roborock Q7 Max is a powerful robot that is equipped with smart mapping and app-based no-go zones. Its 180-minute running time is impressive. It also automatically refills and self-empties its water tank.
1. Roomba j7+ iRobot from iRobot.
The Roomba j7+ is iRobot's smartest robot vacuum to date. Its most notable innovation is its camera-based obstacle detection system. It makes use of AI to recognize objects such as charging cables and shoes. It's also the first to automatically send you a picture of an object it encounters to let you know to avoid it in the future.
The Combo J7+ is the best robot to mop we've ever tested, removing dirt and spills with ease without leaving any trace that was there. It's easy to control through the iRobot Home app which lets you schedule cleaning and create Keep Out Zones to make sure it doesn't clean areas you do not want it to. It's also compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant, so you can start and stop it with your voice.
The design is also more appealing than the competition. It has an elegant, top piece that looks like an toy, not an obnoxious and loud robot. And the Clean Base Automatic Dirt Disposal System automatically empty which is great for reducing your cleanup time.
In our tests, we found that the j7+ swiftly took away dirt, dust, and hair from pets. The counter-rotating rubber brushes kept the debris in one place rather than sending it scattering all over the floor. It was able to collect sand, small gravel and even a tiny bit of grit. Most robots can't do this. It did this without getting caught in our pet's hair.
Although it's not as sophisticated as the $1,217 Roomba s9+ Auto-Emptying Vacuum and can't clean stairs, the j7+ is still an excellent choice for those who require both mopping and a vac in their home. It's not expensive, and the iRobot app makes it very user-friendly to use.
The iRobot Home App is easy to use but we found it less reliable than other robotic cleaner apps. It can take a while to download updates, and it's sometimes difficult to know if they are working until you see them in action.
2. Roborock Q5+
When you're looking for a vacuum that does more than just clean floors, the best option is probably hybrid. This kind of robot usually has a built-in water tank which means they can vacuum and mop your house at the same time. These bots also have various additional features such as smart mapping and small object avoidance and the ability to wash and re-dry mopping pads. They're costly at full retail but often lower prices on Black Friday or Cyber Monday.
Roborock is one of our favorite robot vacuums and the Q5+ isn't an exception. It's their most affordable auto-empty model, and while it's not equipped with some of the features that are found on more expensive models (like no-go zones and multi-story memory) it's still an excellent choice if you're willing to sacrifice a little to save some hundred dollars.
The Q5+ is remarkably gentle when it comes down to obstacles like table legs and walls. This makes it an ideal choice for homes that have lots of furniture. It's also very thorough in cleaning dust bunnies. This is an area that most robot vacuums of lower quality do not excel in. The navigation technology in the Q5+ is fantastic and has very few missed corners and along walls.
The Q5+, like other Roborock products, can be controlled by only a few buttons on your device or through the Roborock App. The app lets you start and stop cleaning. You can also set schedules, design virtual barrier and no-go areas or adjust your home map, or re-label rooms.
If you select the Q5+ model, it comes with a new auto-emptying dock, designed to make this robot easier to maintain. It requires a screwdriver to install, but once in place the process of emptying the bin is relatively easy. It features a large LCD screen, which is useful for setting up schedules or adjusting settings. This feature isn't necessary for the majority of people, but it can help effectively keep the robot's maintenance schedules.
3. Narwal Freo X Ultra
The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a smart, well-rounded vacuum and mop. It's capable of both mopping and vacuuming. Its design is among the most innovative in the market however, it's costly.
It's a small base station that looks beautiful and is able to be concealed when not in use. But the station's main selling factor is its ability to automate numerous tasks and functions that other robots leave up to you. It stores clean and dirty water, it electrolyzes and heats the water (which many other robots require you to do), empties the dustbin after vacuuming, and keeps your robot fully charged and clean.
And its vacuuming is impressive as well. It's the only robovac that I've used that has done a good job picking up dirt from floors that aren't. It's also not as loud as the costly Roomba 900 series or iRobot 980.
The Freo X Ultra is not free of faults, especially when it comes navigation. Its LiDAR sensors and laser sensors aren't as reliable as other robotvacs. This means it is prone to getting stuck or confused in certain areas or rooms in the house. It's also unable to climb stairs as well as other models and isn't equipped with a docking station to create a clean zone for plush carpets.
Although it doesn't provide the same amount of cleaning configuration options in its app, or as many shortcuts in the app as other robovacs, the Freo X Ultra is still an excellent choice for anyone looking for a comprehensive mop and robot vacuum that's worth the price tag.
However, if you're looking to save money or don't want to think about the limitations of this robot, there are plenty of other options on the market with a wide range of eufy models that cost substantially less. The eufy Qrevo Curv, for example is less expensive and offers a similar in-app experience with more features, including the ability to climb stairs, a full-function dock, and superior overall performance when vacuuming floors and low and high-pile carpets.
4. eufy RoboVac G30
eufy is an Anker company with a history of producing robot vacuums with the right combination of performance, features, and price. The G30 Hybrid is no different and offers a powerful cleaning of hard floors as well as mopping, carpets and other surfaces at a reasonable price. You'll need to leave the dock near a power outlet and enough space to allow it to move but.
The G30 is small, 2.85 inches tall to be precise and will fit under many couches and other low-clearance furniture. Its design is a little less ostentatious than some rival models, with a sleek black finish and three buttons that are physical that control Auto Cleaning, which can be paused or started. Recharge and Spot Cleaning (which cleans the area in a spiral pattern for two minutes). You can also connect the G30 to Amazon Alexa or Google Home to conduct cleaning without a schedule using voice commands.
The primary feature that sets the G30 above the rest is the method it cleans. It uses a built-in mapping to create an image of the immovable objects it encounters, remembering what it's already cleaned and the areas it's not able to access. When it needs to recharge, it will automatically return to its starting point and begins cleaning from where it started.
The eufy G30 has a few issues. The iRobot Roomba 675 is much better constructed, has lower recurring costs, charges more quickly and has the same battery life, while providing better performance on bare floors and carpets with a low pile. It comes with a larger dust bin, which does not require more emptying. It also comes with boundary strips that keep it from certain areas. The G30 is cheaper and easier to maintain. Its smaller dust canister doesn't require as frequent emptying and it has less trouble with heavy materials like cereal.
